I am addicted to taking tons of pictures. Mostly of my daughter but also of scenery and dogs or whatever. My digital camera is a point and shoot camera so you can't do much to make the
pictures special. I use to use Kodaks software to touch up my prints because well I have a Kodak camera. However, I have since discovered the best free software for touching up prints. It is Picasa2! I took some pictures at the Disney on Ice show and we were pretty high up but with Picasa I zoomed in and the pics turned out great. I did this picture with both Picasa and Kodak and the one with Kodak distorted the picture and made it all fuzzy and this one is crystal clear.

I also love that when you take pictures and you want to actually see textures there is a sharpen button that will let you actually see blades of grass or hair on skin or whatever. This picture was taken from a pretty good distance. I zoomed in and used the sharpen button and you can actually see the ripples in the water. It really brings the picture to life.I could go on and on about the different things you can do with this program. There is a glow button that just brightens it all up
and a soft focus button that blurs the edges around whatever part of the picture you want.

I agree. I have full version Photoshop, but when I'm in a hurry I use Picasa. The Shutterfly software is cool too and I love that you can make collages with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear about this. I have tons of pictures that could use some work & I don't have time to learn Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteI love Picasa too! In fact, I think you may have recommended them to me a few months ago. I love editing my photos now; before I just used the junky editing software that came with my computer.
