Weekend Review

What a fun weekend. We didn't really do much but we spent time with family and that was fun. We surprised my mother-in-law for her birthday. We met them at a restaurant without her even knowing we were coming to town. She saw our car but she was of course thrilled to see us. She ate up some time with Anna and I tried to give her as much alone time with her as I could.

My sister-in-law and I made plans and lists for our trip in May. I am so excited about our trip I can't stand it. Go check out the cabin we will be staying in and you will see why. I went to Target and got several things on my list. I know it is early yet but several things were on sale and I thought I would get them out of the way. I have them in a closet just waiting for a month to pass.

Anna fell out of the bed Friday night. She had wiggled around and kicked me so much that I moved to the foot of the bed. She wiggled right off the bed with a nice loud *THUMP! She sat up and I looked at her she was just sitting there on her knees shaking her head. I reached my arms out to her and she grabbed a hold and I pulled her back in the bed. She never really woke up! Saturday night she peed in the bed not once but TWICE! I forgot my pull ups and let me just say I think that is a lesson learned! She hadn't wet the bed since the day I went and bought the pull ups lol. That has been roughly a month ago.

Oh and gardening news: I still haven't tilled my land but you know I planted several seeds in the little seed containers. While we were gone 3 of them have started sprouting! I am so excited!!! I, of course, was not smart enough to label the containers so I have no idea what is sprouting but I guess time will tell! Maybe I will get my land tilled up and ready to go this week some time. I also have to finish cleaning up the piles from where Anna and I racked last week. I hope to clean those up by Wednesday weather permitting. It is showing rain through most of the week.

A F~U~N~tastic Day!

Shawn over at Letters to my Daughters has started a new campaign.

Here it is: The F-U-N Injection Challenge: Highlighting the fun in Motherhood.

Many of life's great mysteries is the ability for our minds to play tricks on us and, I feel this is especially easy when two toddlers are fighting over which page you should read next, or when both want to wear the one and only pair of cupcake pajamas.

Sure, motherhood is hard and we all relate to that, but we all know that there is a lot of AWESOME involved.

In honor of her fun campaign I took Anna to the beach. I know this isn't an option for everyone but it is for us even though it takes us upwards to 45 minutes to get there. It is so peaceful and fun I really don't know why I don't do this more often. Well, yeah I do it takes gas and gas is not cheap! But back to the fun part of it lol. We explored, chased birds, watched people fishing and trying to surf. We looked at algea and a jelly fish that had washed up. Most of all we laughed and ran and spent time just being happy and not worrying about all of the other stuff. You know, the dishes and the laundry and the yard work. All of the stuff that calls my name when I am at home.

Now run out and do something that makes you smile!

Wordless Wednesday!

My little helper!

Works for me Wednesday

Almost a month ago I posted a WFMW about doing laundry. At the time I had just started doing it and I wasn't sure what kind of pay off with our electric bill I would have. This is a follow up because I still LOVE hanging out clothes. I now know what kind of pay off it is having and let me just say that as long as I have room to do it I will never go back! On our bill it shows you this month, last month and a year ago. On this months bill it looks a little like this:

This month: $70
Last month: $90
a year ago: $100

I don't know about ya'll but my electric bill has never been $70. Now mind you we aren't using the a/c yet because we open the windows and let the pretty spring air in during the day. We do turn the heat on low at night cause I don't want my baby to get cold. & We are not really using our dishwasher either but the a/c and dishwasher have been out of use for a few months now. So that means that $20 of savings came from just turning off our dryer!

The things I love about hanging clothes out!
  • obviously I love the savings. I can't wait to see the difference this summer!
  • I love being outside and so does Anna.
  • I love being more active. Being on a mission to lose weight any extra movement is good.
  • Hanging the clothes up outside also helps me to stay on top of my laundry. I know that I need to do a load a day or at least every other day or I will be behind.
  • I love listening to the birds sing and Anna laugh while I am doing it.
  • I LOVE that it is helping me teach Anna. The line you see down below is Anna's line. After I hang all the big clothes up we go to her line and we hang them up together. She loves it and can almost do it by herself now. I still put it on the line and let her get it from me and then she clips it by herself. She feels so proud after she finishes!

If you have anything that works for you join in at Rocks in my Dryer!

Tackle it Tuesday!

I actually did this yesterday. I rearranged both my living room and my daughters bedroom. I switched out some furniture between the two. I am so pleased with they way they look. I forgot to get before pictures but take my word for it it is a big difference!

Past and Future!

We had a great weekend! Anna looked so pretty for Easter! She had so much fun with all of the activities and the basket and the extra family time. Easter is so much better with a child! Of course, I think most things are just better with a child lol. Before we had Anna all of the holidays and vacations etc were just missing something. Now looking at everything through Anna's eyes just makes everything so exciting and new again. It is the next best thing to being a kid yourself lol.
I don't know why I got off on that tangent lol. I love being a Mommy and it shows I guess lol.

Anyway, This week I am going to start my veggie garden. I am very excited about this. I have never had one before because we have always had big dogs that wouldn't be kind to it. Now I am going to take advantage of the yard we have and plant all sorts of veggies! I have a friend or two that will be coming to help and we are going to work together on all of our yards. (Angel, I ran into Lori at the store this morning and mentioned it. She said she might come help if we help do hers lol.) I can't wait! I will post pictures of course for you guys including a before and after shot. Then ya'll can watch the growing process with us! If anyone has any gardening tips please feel free to pass them on. We are using seeds and I have never done that before!

Happy Easter!

I woke up early this morning for several reasons. One being my neighbors missing cat found his way into my backyard. He was making such a fuss it woke me up. So I called the neighbor and left a message but I didn't go get him because he runs from me. After laying in bed for about 30 minutes I decided I would get up because I have a ton of things to do this morning before church.
  • I had to get an art project together for the kids!
  • I had to study my Sunday School lesson.
  • I had to get Anna's Easter basket out!
  • I need to get myself ready.
  • Gather everything for Anna to get ready.
  • We are going to stop and get doughnuts for the kiddos.
  • I would like to run into Target or Wally world and get some stones. If I had studied my lesson ahead of time it had a great idea about giving the kids stones as a reminder that Jesus can do anything. So if we have time I would like to do that. I might just go throw some clothes on and run up to walmart right now. Of course if I do that I will wake my mother-in-law up. Sorry Lynn, if I did that!

That is all I can think of at the moment that I needed to do.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for sending Your son to die on the cross for me! I try to remind myself daily that I am worthy and loved by You. Help me to understand the true meaning of Easter and the sacrifice you and your son made for me! Help me to portray that to my kids in Sunday School and every other day of the year to everyone I meet. Be with our choir this morning Lord as we sing your praises. Help us to sound pleasing to the ear so that everyone will listen to the words and not to mistakes. Bring people into our church that need to hear your word and just open their hearts and minds. I pray that you will help my family have a nice day honoring you! Help us to bond and laugh and love even more than usual! I am truly blessed by you with the family I have. I realize that every day. Thank you so much for providing for our needs and some of our wants. I pray that you will help me give back to you and love you as you deserve. Please forgive me for all of my sins Lord! My sins that caused your son so much pain so very long ago. Help me to learn from my mistakes and move forward. Thank you for assuring me that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness and I will receive it. Lord I want to pray for my First Place class today. Today will be a time for families getting together and eating yummy but not so healthy foods. Help us to keep it under control and enjoy enough to make us happy but not be gluten's lol. I pray that you will be with my inlaws on their trip home and help them to stay safe! I pray all of this in your name ~ Jesus! Amen

Good Friday!

Today represents the day that my Lord, Jesus Christ died for me! There is a song we are singing Sunday during our Easter worship that says it all: I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross! The song is "Here I am to Worship". An innocent man that was so good and wonderful died on that cross with the weight of the world on him. He was tortured more than most men that were put on the cross. He didn't have to do it but He did for you and me! He did it so that our debt for our sins would be paid.

There is an email floating around that really touches me. It reveals a story written by a teenage boy for school about Heaven. He said that he sees the entry as going into a vault of sorts with thousands of drawers. Those drawers contained the story of his life. The good and the bad! The bad drawers are totally embarrassing and it contained stuff that he was hoping no one would ever know about. Jesus would come into that room and shake his head. But because the boy believes that Jesus died on the cross for his sins Jesus would go through and sign his name over the boys on every sin.

I have sinned plenty in my life ~ some big things, some little! It hurts for me to know that Jesus suffered because of my sin! I am not perfect but I am saved! I will go to Heaven and I will get to see Jesus! I will be embarrassed to discuss my sins. I will be EXCITED to know that even though I have sinned and failed in so many ways ~ I will be accepted into Heaven because of what Jesus did for me! I hope that I will get to see you in Heaven!

Lighten Up Friday

I wasn't going to do this today but then I got on the scales! lol I have lost 3 more pounds this week. My weight is so wacky let me tell you my weekly weight process. I weigh on Wednesday getting one number, then on Friday I weigh again and I have generally lost 1 or 2 lbs. Then if I way again at any other point during the week, which well I do a little to much lol, anyway any other point in the week my weight has gone up like 3 or 4 pounds from what it was on Wednesday. It is crazy, apparently I am my lightest on Friday lol!

This weekend I am going to be naughty though because I am going to enjoy a yummy Easter Dinner! Hopefully I won't gain it all back!

Chicky

This is what we did this morning! We went to see a hatchery that was at the mall. It just so happens that we know the people working it so Anna was more than willing to see the baby chicks. She petted them but wouldn't hold them which is probably a good thing lol. I held a few of them and they were so soft and wiggly. It did make me flashback though to a time when I was not much older then Anna. It was Easter and I got a baby chick and so did my brother. If I recall it correctly (which you never know, my memory is pretty shotty) I held that baby chick so hard that I ended up killing it. I flashed back to that when I was holding these baby chicks. However, I am happy to report that when we left all of them were alive and still very wiggly! Yay me! Maybe it was a breakthrough lol!

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Anna is getting very entertaining with the way she is putting things together. I hope you get a good laugh!

  • Walking through a store, Anna goes to the bra section: She said "Mommy, brog for my boobies" as she is saying this she is covering her boobies and pointing at one of the largest bras I had ever seen lol.
  • We have a large bridge that we have to go over sometimes. Coming over it a few weeks ago she says: "Mommy on the bridge" I said "yes baby we are on the bridge" She said "Mommy, I know that!" Can't you just hear the eyes rolling!
  • She tells me "Not funny"!
  • Our doggie passed away this past week. I tried to explain that he went to heaven to be with Jesus so she said "OH, he's at church!"
  • She also said walking out the door "Bye Buddy" She stopped and thought about. Realized that he wasn't here any longer and stomped her foot and went "Oh, man!"
  • Watching the Dancing with the Stars show she said about one of the dancers (I will not mention his name because I really like him) "Mommy, He's pulling poopy out!" I don't know what made her think this unless it was because he was wearing tux with tails.

Hope you enjoyed our Tiny Talk! Go to NB7 for more Tiny Talk Tuesday!

These were emailed to me and I thought they were funny. To bad the graphics didn't come in. Hope you enjoy!

I know what Victoria's Secret is. The secret is that nobody older than 40 can fit into their stuff.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting my pantyhose on fire.

Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks two sizes!

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like, 'You know, sometimes I just forget to eat.' Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys. But I've never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills. She had 14 kids, but she doesn't really care.

The trouble with some women is.... that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are: eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day.

Random Thoughts

After my long post yesterday I don't really have a lot to say lol. Pretty wild huh. Who would have thought I would run out of things to talk about. I will just ramble for today's post and we will see where the road takes us!

Easter is just around the corner. Anna wore one of the dresses I bought, potentially for Easter, to church yesterday.

She looked so pretty! Don't you think!?!

Later that afternoon she woke up from her nap and snuggled back up with me and fell back to sleep! That is one of my favorite moments. Anytime I can hold my sleeping baby I love it.

Sweet Dreams baby!

I don't think I mentioned that my neighbors house was broken into last week. The good neighbor not the crazy people. She said that the cops explained that 3 guys are breaking into houses all over our neighborhood and taking whatever they can get but are specifically looking for guns. They have stolen 30 guns! How frightening is that? It makes me so ready to leave this town and move on. I have been ready for a while anyway but wow! Of course, I have been making more friends and having more fun so that will be hard to leave behind! I hope we get to move soon though the thought of someone breaking into our house terrifies me. Considering that we are home almost ALL the time, I know that might detour them but you never know. Or the thought of someone out there with 30 guns, YIKES! What are they planning to do with those?

What a weekend!

It was fun filled and super busy not to mention frightening!

Friday night Anna and I were on our own for a while. Chris had to go help the youth out with some stuff. So we filled our evening with cleaning and taking pictures.

When her Daddy got home he read to her while I finished cleaning the kitchen floor.

Saturday we had a great time. We took Anna and my neighbors 1.5 year old son to an egg hunt and to the park. Some of our friends invited us and we hadn't seen them in a while so decided to go. It was a lot of fun although wow the difference between Anna and this little boy were so vast it was wild. He isn't talking at all and is still very wobbly on his feet.

That afternoon we met some other friends at the Bamboo Farm for me to take some family pictures of them. Let me just tell ya'll I did a great job for them. Of course they are so cute together and have a most adorable little son that they made my job easy.

After taking tons of pictures we decided to go have dinner together. We are new friends. We met at church and as the wife said we are in the "dating" stage lol. You know how it is when couples first meet they have to make sure they will all "gel" together. Well, we really did! We stayed at the restaurant more than 2 hours. In fact the staff had to hint that they wanted us to leave lol. We are 10 years older than this couple but they have been through a lot and are pretty mature for their age; either that or we aren't so mature lol. Hmmm, maybe it is just a combo lol. Either way I look forward to getting to know them better and hanging out more often.

During this time my neighbors ex-girlfriend, the mother of the little boy we took with us to the egg hunt decided to call and give me a hard time for helping out her ex by taking care of her son. He got called into work and she wouldn't or couldn't keep him for whatever reason and he asked us to help him out. Apparently she changed her mind at the last minute but he was already in the process of giving him to us. She was not very happy about this and when I refused to talk to her about it she called back and left 2 messages. Not very nice messages. This is the same person that sat in my house and told me she was going to key her ex's car if he wasn't home and then went and did it. After getting home we realized that there were tornado warnings all over our area. The wind was whistling and it was getting scary. We put Anna to bed, with me in there with her. Around 12:30am our tornado alarm at the school went off and we got Anna up and huddled in our closet until almost 1. Anna slept through it but it was rather terrifying for me and Chris. Oh and our power had been out since about 9:30pm. It finally came back on around 9:30 am this morning. Or at least that is what the power co. said since we left at 8:30 to go get breakfast we can't be sure. My dear "friend" that left the 2 messages on Saturday called and left another one this morning telling me to stay away from her son! Guess what I think I will. I don't need all of that. Oh and for my friends and family that use my phone, my number will be changed tomorrow so I will send out an email to you and let you know what it is. If you don't get an email send me one and I will be happy to send it to you!

Well, I am late getting Anna off to bed and she and her Daddy are getting impatient so I will come back tomorrow!

Lighten Up Friday

I haven't done this for about 3 weeks. I have had my ups and downs during that time. I pretty much have averaged a pound a week. I don't think that is to bad. In fact I am pleased with it considering I have had my ups and downs with my eating habits too.

I was very excited when I got on the scale this morning and saw that I had lost another pound. When I weighed for my class on Wednesday it said I had gained a pound. So that pound plus another one disappeared between Wednesday and this morning woo hoo! I tend to do that though I will lose a pound, gain it plus another one and then I will lose them again plus some. It is so crazy but as long as my end result is good I will take it lol.

Help me!

Which dress do you like?

Don't go by the faces lol!!!

My weekend!

It was fun and odd lol. We left my in-laws house Friday morning and headed off to the mountains in NC. We stopped in a small town for lunch and I had the yummiest wrap ever. It was a cheeseburger wrap. We made it to the house mid-afternoon. It is a beautiful home. 3 stories with beautiful views of the mountains. I stayed in the basement and let me just say it was like a little piece of heaven. I had a huge screened tv and a fireplace with a thermostat. I stayed nice and toasty every night! Friday night Anna started out sleeping with her Yia Yia but she fell out of the bed half way through the night and ended up with me. Saturday night she slept with me and I think she loved it downstairs as much as I did.

Saturday we went to some shoe store that had so many shoes you would have to spend HOURS there to look at them all. I bought me a pair of sketcher sandals for $17.00! They were kids shoes lol. We did some exploring in the mountains including trying to find the spots where Dirty Dancing was filmed. It was great and relaxing. The only problem was the stairs in the house. Anna wanted to keep going up and down and up and down. It was driving us crazy lol. I ended up staying downstairs so she could just go back and forth. She didn't want to go down if no one was down there unless someone went with her.

The weather on Saturday is what was so odd. We left the house and started down the mountain. The temperature dropped from 50 to 36 in like 10 minutes. We saw sleet one minute, sunshine the next and then pure fluffy snow flakes the next. It was crazy I have never seen anything like it. It was a cold day but the sun finally came out to stay for a while. Listening to the wind in the house was wild. It whistled and carried on both nights we were there. I couldn't really hear it from downstairs so it didn't keep me up. Although with my very own fireplace keeping me so cozy I don't think anything would have kept me up.

Anna was a real trooper through the entire trip. The curvy roads made me sick but she seemed to be ok with it until we started down the mountain the last time. She got sick for the first time. I am guessing it was a combination of factors including it was a clear pretty day and Cindy was charging on down the mountain lol. That and she really didn't have anything solid on her stomach probably didn't help. She did great though. In May we will be heading to Tennessee and it will be a longer drive so hopefully she will do just as well.

That was our weekend. It went by in a whirlwind but it was a lot of fun! Thanks Cindy for inviting us to join you guys!

I'm BACK!

We had a great trip. I feel like we were in the road for 10 days but it was a lot of fun! I will share some pictures with you all but first I need to share my bad news. Last night around 5 am our dog passed away. We were going to take him back to the vet this week but he didn't wait. I believe it has been a rough weekend for my hubby. It has been a little confusing for Anna, she keeps asking where Buddy is and looking for him saying "I can't find him". Hopefully, she will adjust to it soon. We knew it was coming and talked about it with her and tonight we tried to explain it all to her but I don't know how much she really has a handle on. We would appreciate any prayers!

Now onto the happier moments of the weekend. Sorry there are so many pictures but I just had to share!

Anna's swimsuit! She tried it on so we could get pictures. I just thought this one was funny!

This is the view off of the back balcony the day that we arrived. Can you see the clouds hanging low over the mountain?

Anna warming her hands in front of the fire. This just came to her naturally I didn't instruct her to do it.
Now she is playing Chess. We have such a smart little girl lol.
Here she is with Yia Yia waiting on dinner.

Here is the last of the sunsetting!

Here she is with me on the day we were leaving. Such clear skies!

Enjoy the pictures and I will tell you about our trip tomorrow maybe. Anna is driving me crazy at the moment so let me get her to bed!

Miss Me!!!

Well we are leaving for our trip today. First we are going to the park with all of our new friends. I am hoping to wear Anna out enough to have her sleep at least some of the way in the car. After playing we will have lunch with my hubby and away we will go! Anna is excited about going to see Yia Yia and everyone else. Last night she kept wanting to call "Cinny". She has only met Chris's Aunt a few times and just for short periods of time. However, she must have made an impression lol. I am excited that they will have a chance to get to know each other better over the weekend. Hopefully the drive to NC won't be to bad on us all.

I need to run so I can finish getting us ready to go. But before I do I have to share a joke that Chris told Anna last night.

How did the tissue dance?

Anna put a boogie in it!

Anna didn't quite get it but I thought it was cute! Have a good weekend everyone and I will see ya'll Monday or Tuesday! With pictures!!!

She cracked me this morning!

After washing Anna's sheets 2 days in a row I had a weak moment and bought some night time pull ups. I will at least use them when we are gone this weekend. Oh I don't think I have mentioned it on here. We are going to the mountains to celebrate my MIL's Birthday. It isn't until later in the month but her sister wants to take her to the mountains for a girls weekend. This is just the only weekend it worked out. So tomorrow we will head up to their house and then Friday morning head off to the mountains. I am excited about our trip I just hate that my hubby will be stuck at home alone. Hopefully he will be able to entertain himself. Oh who am I kidding he will probably play poker Friday night and either play golf or something on Saturday. I hope he has fun whatever it is he does. I plan on having fun! I am hoping to even squeeze in some hiking or something equally as cool and active.

But back to the pull ups - I don't really want to use them but I really want a full nights sleep of not getting up to take her potty. I would also like a break from washing her sheets so much. I feel as if we are back tracking though so I don't know. I will use them for this pack which will last almost a month and then we will decide if I buy another pack. Luckily since she will only wear them at night it will only be about $10 for a month. I could save that in the water and detergent from washing her sheets so much.

Well, I have a million things to do before tomorrow so I better run. Hope you all have a good afternoon.

So Many Missed Moments!

I never realized how much I depended on the camera to capture moments that I don't want to forget. Since I don't have it I thought I would put it down in words here.

  • Anna and Daddy playing the Atari. Sitting close together so Daddy could help with the joy stick!
  • Anna sitting on the back door step with her arm wrapped around her baby watching the rain come down.
  • Anna putting a blanket over poor KO when he gets cold.
  • Anna playing excitedly with her friends at the park.
  • Anna in her swim suit.
  • Anna in her new tennis shoes.
  • Anna's little clothes hanging on the line. I don't know why but it just looks so cute and I have to get a picture of it.
  • Anna's first taste of Peeps. (She didn't like them it was to funny!)
  • Anna pushing her baby in our swing on the back porch.

I am sure there have been more in my almost 2 weeks of missed moments but these are the ones that stand out the most. Oh and I need a video of Anna playing in the sheets while they hang on the line. She loves to run in and out of them. I am sure I will have the opportunity to get most of them again but still...

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Anna: David is funny
Daddy: You mean funny like Daddy
Anna: No - David is funny

For the record though she does tell her Daddy that he is funny a good bit.

Anna: Is David there?
Mommy: I am sure he will be.
Anna: Can I share water with David
Mommy: Of course you can share your water. Although I don't know if he will be thirsty.
Anna: I share water with David!

Can you tell a trend? I think she is falling in love with a 10 year old little boy lol.

This is cute. It is something that she says almost every night at the dinner table.

1 Mommy
1 Daddy
1 Me

She started saying 2 Mommies or 2 Daddies but we finally got her to say 1 of each lol.

She can also say that she is 2 years old and hold up 2 fingers. Before she would always tell you she was 5.

She loves to read her Bible every night and it has one of the cutest prayers in it. I thought I would share it here.

Any time or any where
God Your listening to our prayer
Day or night or spring or fall
You will hear us when we call
Lord, give us what we need today
And be in all we do and say.
Please help us love the way you do.
We give back all our love to You!

Amen

We have to pray this prayer every day or Anna feels lost! I just thought I would share it with you.

The Great Outdoors!

Anna and I are making new friends at the park and at church. We are attempting to start up a little play group. So we met this morning, just accidentally running into a woman I had met just a few weeks ago. The kids had so much fun and I have to say it was great to be with other women. It was really good for me. I think sometimes I forget that it is important to socialize with other adults. We are going to do this on a regular basis. We are even talking about taking a trip to the zoo!

Have I told you all how much Anna likes it outside? If I haven't mentioned it she LOVES being outside. We spend at least 75% of our day in the great outdoors. Today it consisted of hanging out a load of laundry, then going to the park for 2 hours. Coming home taking in the laundry and putting out another load. After getting that done we had lunch and a gloriously long 2 hour nap!!! After nap the first thing she says is she wants to go back to the park. Instead of going to the park we go outside in the back yard where I did my Bible Study for the day. Well, I mean I tried to do my Bible Study lol Anna had other ideas she wanted to play ball. We played ball and ran around and looked up at the clouds. We attempted to see things in the clouds although Anna wasn't really cooperating. I saw a dog playing and a rhinoceros too. Then we played some more and took in the clothes.

We made homemade baked french fries and hamburgers for dinner but Anna didn't want it. She ate a few fries and a few bites of her hamburger then she decided she wanted a salad. She ate her salad and was a happy girl!

Don't forget to drink your 8 cups of water today!!!

In the beginning

Shawn at Letters to my Daughters has put out a call for bloggers that have been blogging since there babies were little. I kept one over at babababies but have since deleted it. I did make copies though and I thought I would share a few of my favorite posts from that first year. Well, really I did it from Jan. to May 06 before taking my break and restarting over here in Nov. So I will share just a few of my favorites.

Anna was about 5 months in January 2006.

Today has been an excellent day. Anna and her Daddy took a nap with me today. They got up and let me sleep for 2 more hours. I think I am human again lol!!! I love watching Chris with Anna. It is so cool knowing that our love created such a beautiful baby.

There is nothing more joyful than hearing your baby laugh at you. Even being exhausted it just warms your heart.

This was from the blog written in Anna's voice:

I did sleep better last night. I got up at about 1:45am ate a little bit and went back to bed. So Mommy has done the same thing feeding me all day long. I think I could get very comfortable with this arrangement. I have played in the floor and even took a little nap.

To celebrate V-Day my Daddy is taking his two sweethearts to dinner.

I am delighted to report that I have 3 teeth coming in. They are not all the way out but almost. I have one more that hasn't popped out yet but it will soon.

I am staying at nursery at church without crying, well without crying to much anyways lol.

I am loving life!!! Being a baby is the coolest!!!

There are more that go into when she started riding in the grocery cart without her carrier and when she rolled over, when she started making the la sound and so much more. I didn't want to give them all to you lol.

I wish I had talked about nursing and the different moments we had with that both good and bad. I wish I would have been more detailed about some things. I don't think I have ever put anything down that I regretted except for some major type-os and misspelled words lol. If you are a new Mom just starting to blog I would recommend marking all of the milestones. On the babababies site I was using they had a place for all of your milestones and it had the averages of when most babies do them. ie: First Smile, First Laugh, First Word, Crawl, Wave etc...
If you would like to share anything with Shawn please feel free to leave her a comment!

Spring is in the air!

What a beautiful day today has been. My poor hubby had to work this morning. I had to wash Anna's sheets cause we had an accident last night. By we I mean HER! Just wanted to clarify that I didn't have an accident lol. We got those all cleaned and hung on the line. Anna ran around for a while with the sand gnats chewing on us. 10:30 we headed down to the park to meet Brooks and Jackson for a play date. We have missed them terribly. They had to go out of town because their Great Grandfather passed away. Brooks got a hair cut for the first time ever yesterday and it is still long and super curly but it is cute. The kids had a blast and Anna cried when it was time to go. She was totally devastated. This afternoon after her nap Chris and I took her back to the park for a little while. We came home and made some yummy, pretty healthy pizzas.

For those of you from my generation before X-Box and WII there was Atari. You remember? A few years ago, the year I was pregnant with Anna I bought Chris an Atari Flashback. We really haven't played it a lot because, well you know we were busy with other things like diapers and tantrums or whatever else related to Anna. We cracked it out this weekend to let Anna play a little because we don't have the new high tech games. We have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Anna isn't so good at it cause the joy sticks are stiff and hard to use but she enjoys pretending and trying.

In other news, our dog isn't doing very well at all. He has taken a definite turn for the worse so we are going to take him back to the vet soon and see what they can do. It is so hard watching him deteriorate so much, so quickly. That is all I have to say about that!

Anna is playing with her Daddy right now and can I just say there is nothing sweeter than her laughter.

Oh I almost forgot I wanted to put this on here so I can look back in years to come and remember. On Valentine's Day (yes, I have selfishly been keeping it to myself) we ran to the grocery store and the check out girl gave Anna a pack of cookies in celebration. I explained to her that she received such a generous gift because she is so special. She looks at me and says "Mommy's special too!" And then she gave me the sweetest grin ever. Isn't she just a doll!
