Weekend Review

What a fun weekend. We didn't really do much but we spent time with family and that was fun. We surprised my mother-in-law for her birthday. We met them at a restaurant without her even knowing we were coming to town. She saw our car but she was of course thrilled to see us. She ate up some time with Anna and I tried to give her as much alone time with her as I could.

My sister-in-law and I made plans and lists for our trip in May. I am so excited about our trip I can't stand it. Go check out the cabin we will be staying in and you will see why. I went to Target and got several things on my list. I know it is early yet but several things were on sale and I thought I would get them out of the way. I have them in a closet just waiting for a month to pass.

Anna fell out of the bed Friday night. She had wiggled around and kicked me so much that I moved to the foot of the bed. She wiggled right off the bed with a nice loud *THUMP! She sat up and I looked at her she was just sitting there on her knees shaking her head. I reached my arms out to her and she grabbed a hold and I pulled her back in the bed. She never really woke up! Saturday night she peed in the bed not once but TWICE! I forgot my pull ups and let me just say I think that is a lesson learned! She hadn't wet the bed since the day I went and bought the pull ups lol. That has been roughly a month ago.

Oh and gardening news: I still haven't tilled my land but you know I planted several seeds in the little seed containers. While we were gone 3 of them have started sprouting! I am so excited!!! I, of course, was not smart enough to label the containers so I have no idea what is sprouting but I guess time will tell! Maybe I will get my land tilled up and ready to go this week some time. I also have to finish cleaning up the piles from where Anna and I racked last week. I hope to clean those up by Wednesday weather permitting. It is showing rain through most of the week.

My weekend!

It was fun and odd lol. We left my in-laws house Friday morning and headed off to the mountains in NC. We stopped in a small town for lunch and I had the yummiest wrap ever. It was a cheeseburger wrap. We made it to the house mid-afternoon. It is a beautiful home. 3 stories with beautiful views of the mountains. I stayed in the basement and let me just say it was like a little piece of heaven. I had a huge screened tv and a fireplace with a thermostat. I stayed nice and toasty every night! Friday night Anna started out sleeping with her Yia Yia but she fell out of the bed half way through the night and ended up with me. Saturday night she slept with me and I think she loved it downstairs as much as I did.

Saturday we went to some shoe store that had so many shoes you would have to spend HOURS there to look at them all. I bought me a pair of sketcher sandals for $17.00! They were kids shoes lol. We did some exploring in the mountains including trying to find the spots where Dirty Dancing was filmed. It was great and relaxing. The only problem was the stairs in the house. Anna wanted to keep going up and down and up and down. It was driving us crazy lol. I ended up staying downstairs so she could just go back and forth. She didn't want to go down if no one was down there unless someone went with her.

The weather on Saturday is what was so odd. We left the house and started down the mountain. The temperature dropped from 50 to 36 in like 10 minutes. We saw sleet one minute, sunshine the next and then pure fluffy snow flakes the next. It was crazy I have never seen anything like it. It was a cold day but the sun finally came out to stay for a while. Listening to the wind in the house was wild. It whistled and carried on both nights we were there. I couldn't really hear it from downstairs so it didn't keep me up. Although with my very own fireplace keeping me so cozy I don't think anything would have kept me up.

Anna was a real trooper through the entire trip. The curvy roads made me sick but she seemed to be ok with it until we started down the mountain the last time. She got sick for the first time. I am guessing it was a combination of factors including it was a clear pretty day and Cindy was charging on down the mountain lol. That and she really didn't have anything solid on her stomach probably didn't help. She did great though. In May we will be heading to Tennessee and it will be a longer drive so hopefully she will do just as well.

That was our weekend. It went by in a whirlwind but it was a lot of fun! Thanks Cindy for inviting us to join you guys!

I'm BACK!

We had a great trip. I feel like we were in the road for 10 days but it was a lot of fun! I will share some pictures with you all but first I need to share my bad news. Last night around 5 am our dog passed away. We were going to take him back to the vet this week but he didn't wait. I believe it has been a rough weekend for my hubby. It has been a little confusing for Anna, she keeps asking where Buddy is and looking for him saying "I can't find him". Hopefully, she will adjust to it soon. We knew it was coming and talked about it with her and tonight we tried to explain it all to her but I don't know how much she really has a handle on. We would appreciate any prayers!

Now onto the happier moments of the weekend. Sorry there are so many pictures but I just had to share!

Anna's swimsuit! She tried it on so we could get pictures. I just thought this one was funny!

This is the view off of the back balcony the day that we arrived. Can you see the clouds hanging low over the mountain?

Anna warming her hands in front of the fire. This just came to her naturally I didn't instruct her to do it.
Now she is playing Chess. We have such a smart little girl lol.
Here she is with Yia Yia waiting on dinner.

Here is the last of the sunsetting!

Here she is with me on the day we were leaving. Such clear skies!

Enjoy the pictures and I will tell you about our trip tomorrow maybe. Anna is driving me crazy at the moment so let me get her to bed!

Miss Me!!!

Well we are leaving for our trip today. First we are going to the park with all of our new friends. I am hoping to wear Anna out enough to have her sleep at least some of the way in the car. After playing we will have lunch with my hubby and away we will go! Anna is excited about going to see Yia Yia and everyone else. Last night she kept wanting to call "Cinny". She has only met Chris's Aunt a few times and just for short periods of time. However, she must have made an impression lol. I am excited that they will have a chance to get to know each other better over the weekend. Hopefully the drive to NC won't be to bad on us all.

I need to run so I can finish getting us ready to go. But before I do I have to share a joke that Chris told Anna last night.

How did the tissue dance?

Anna put a boogie in it!

Anna didn't quite get it but I thought it was cute! Have a good weekend everyone and I will see ya'll Monday or Tuesday! With pictures!!!

We are off again!

Tomorrow we are heading off to the in-laws. Then Friday we are heading off to Myrtle Beach! YAY!!! I can't wait. Apparently we are staying in a condo that has a dock outside the window. So Anna can look out and see the water and the boats! She is going to LOVE that!

Tomorrow we will leave around lunch time so that she can nap most of the way there. Friday we will leave there after lunch so hopefully she will sleep most of the way to Myrtle Beach. The best part of the whole trip - are you ready? Saturday night my sis-in-law and I will get to have a girls night out while MIL and Anna have a girls night in woo hoo! I don't know what we will do but it will be nice getting out after dark lol.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I will check in next week probably Monday!

Life

My life is entertaining to say the least. Anna and I stay busy. Mainly because Anna doesn't like to chill out. I think she gets that from her Daddy. He has no idea how to relax. Even on the cruise we took several years ago; he couldn't really relax. Sitting on the boat could have been considered cruel and unusual punishment. Me on the other hand; I love to relax and chill out. Anywho, Our life is going to stay busy for the next few weeks. Chris is trying to finish up his Masters degree and is up to his eyeballs in stuff dealing with that. So I have decided that Anna and I will spend the next few weeks traveling on the weekends. That way he can focus on work and not feel guilty about not being here. I won't have to feel neglected because I will be doing something. Anna will be going which is what she loves. That way it is a win ~ win ~ win!

So this weekend we are going to a reunion for my Dad's family. My Grandfather had about 50 kids lol just kidding but he did have something like 12 kids with his first wife and 7 with my Grandma. So they have started all getting together once a year. My Grandfather has been gone since my Dad was 13 so it is kind of cool to get a glimpse of who he was. The main reason I am going though is to see my Grandma! She is 89 years old (90 in January). She is an inspiration to me with all of the trials and tribulations she has gone through. I didn't appreciate her when I was younger. Now I feel huge regrets for all of the time I missed out on with her because I was to self absorbed to go see her. So now I like to soak her up when I get the chance. It really does break my heart to go see her though. She has the same conversation over and over again. At least she still knows us and all that. I called her yesterday to let her know I was coming and she knew who I was before I even told her. That makes me feel good!

Next weekend we will be going somewhere with my sis in law and mil to celebrate sis's birthday! I guess we are still going somewhere who knows lol. I don't know where we will be going and I guess we might end up not going anywhere. However, Anna and I will still be going in that direction so that Chris can get some homework done.
So both of my blogs will be a little neglected over the next few weeks. I will probably be blogging early in the week and then not so much later in the week. Just thought I would pass this on to you guys!

A whirlwind weekend!

I have been sick for almost a week but I didn't have time to even think about it this past weekend. It started off with us heading off to see family on Thursday early afternoon so that night we could take Anna to see Disney on Ice. It was a lot of fun and Anna really enjoyed it. Her favorite parts were Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and I can't remember what the other one is called but you can see it in the picture. Anna never sits still more than a few minutes at the time. TV has never been a baby sitter in this house. However, she managed to sit totally still and absorbed in the show for a whole hour! By intermission she was ready to go so that was the end of that. It was a lot of fun though so I am glad that we went.

Friday, we went to a garden park that my hubby and I use to go have picnics at. We went with my mil and her sister. We took crackers and stuff for a snacky picnic. Anna had other ideas for the crackers and ended up feeding them to the fish. She had a blast as we walked around the park looking around and being silly. Aunt Cindy is the queen of silly. She is super smart and uses that to her advantage. Anna was thoroughly entertained. This whole time I have been sick not like pukey sick but all of the crude inside your body sick. So that night I bargained with the inlaws and told them if they wanted to let Anna sleep with them that night & I would stay at Aunt Casey's. This way I could take Nyquil and actually get some sleep and hopefully knock the crude out! They agreed instantly of course. So that night I got Anna to sleep in their bed and headed off to an amazing nights sleep.

Saturday, we hooked back up and had some silly time. An early lunch because we had a photoshoot that afternoon. Nap was perfectly timed and for once everything actually fell in place. She woke up just before I was about to go get her. We got her dressed and ready and out the door in record time. She did pretty good with her photo shoot we got about 3 good pictures. I even got a few on my camera too. She enjoyed playing in the water fountains they had there and then for the best part (in Anna's eyes) she got to ride a lawnmower (tractor). She wouldn't ride it when it was on but she enjoyed "driving" it. She spent the night with them that night too and that night really was the most amazing nights sleep. I slept like a log. I won't say a baby because we all know babies don't sleep that great lol.

Sunday, we headed back after lunch and I am so glad to be home. It is fun to go away but I love coming home. This coming weekend Anna and I are going to a family reunion. It will be a 4 hour drive that we will probably turn into at least 5 hours. Hopefully it will go well and we will have fun.
