Fun-filled weekend!

Filled is the operative word there! It was crazy busy but we enjoyed it. Friday night was the calmest night. Saturday we woke up and got ready for a birthday party. Anna was so very excited! It was for one of her friends and she picked out the present. She was also excited about singing "Happy Birthday". She seriously LOVES that song!
After that we headed home and grabbed a short nap. It was short because we wanted to go to the Bamboo Farm for a Fall Festival. We got there later than we hoped for and it was already starting to close down. Anna got a balloon though and that made her a happy girl.
Then later I left Anna and Chris to go out for a girls night. We were going to play cards but didn't have enough people. We ended up watching a scary movie instead. That was fun lol no seriously! I was spooked and a little freaked out. Especially when Dustin the 13 year old boy decided to scare me half to death during the movie. It was Saw 1 apparently the 5th one is either coming out or already out. It was a good movie though. It kept you thinking and on the edge of your seat. Of course, I woke up at 4 and all could see was a horse head. I did come up with a good Sunday School lesson at that time before I went back to sleep. I got up at 7:30 and wrote it all out. I might share it with you guys tomorrow if I can find time. Sunday was church as usual and we had Choir practice as 4. By the time we got home had lunch and got Anna down for a nap it was time to go again!
I have a lot of work to do this week. Between the Carnival Friday and company coming I will be a busy - busy girl!!!
Oh, for those that live near me guess what comes on tomorrow!!! The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!!! Don't miss it!!!

Warning Label: TMI!

Let me just tell you guys about our weekend. It started off on shaky ground and ended up pretty much the same way. Friday afternoon we were going to visit Yia Yia and Pop and Aunt Casey. Anna and I got the car all packed up and the house all locked up and we went to pick up Chris at his office. On the way Anna told me her tummy hurt. I asked if she needed to go potty and she said no. We get to Chris's office and I asked her how her tummy felt and she said it it's a little better maybe. We had to wait for Chris to close down his computer and all of the other things you have to do to walk out of your office a little early on a Friday. All of a sudden Anna starts vomiting. It was horrible. I had the car still running but when she started I jumped out of the car and ran around to her where she proceeded to continue vomiting for what felt like FOREVER! I had nothing to catch it and no way to get her out of the car without it going everywhere. By the time I figured out how to get her out she was done. I called Chris's cell and told him to "Get out here NOW". I strip Anna, Chris skids up to us and was shocked to see what is going on. We finally get Anna changed and the car cleaned up. I am thinking hmm, maybe we shouldn't make this 2.5 hour trip. Anna is adamant that she is fine and wants to go! We get on the road and about a mile down the road Anna said she had to go pee pee. Not just a non-committal kinda way but I have to pee pee now or I am going to wet my pants. We pull into Target, take care of business and then get back on the road. About half a mile later Anna turned a little green and said she was gonna be sick so we pulled over to the side of the road. I wish you could see Chris tell this part because he is so funny. Anna and I get out and she is suddenly fine so we stand there looking at the inter coastal waterway and the boats out there. We are having a talk. I told her if she felt bad we just needed to stay home. We could not stop every 2 minutes or we would never make it to Yia Yia's house. I told her if we had to stop one more time we were going to turn around and go home. I needed her to be strong! She agreed and we got in the car. Chris during this conversation was sitting in the car on one of the busiest streets in our city. He said the car was bouncing around every time a car would zip by. Anyway, we finally got on the road again and made it to Yia Yia and Pop's house without stopping again.

Saturday was a rainy, yucky day. We didn't get much done. My sis in law did buy some Christmas stuff. Ornaments and new wreaths things like that. She blamed it on me that she bought them but they are SO cute! If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, you should go there. A lot of their Christmas stuff is 50% off already! We did have a very yummy coconut cake, too.

Sunday was a pretty day and we spent much of it outside. We went to visit some horses and some cows. Had car trouble! Oh yeah, we were full of issues! My car would not get out of park. It cranked up beautifully but we couldn't drive it lol. Finally, the neighbor across the street was called and he walked over and fixed it. It is OLD! Is what he said was wrong with it lol. He had to work the shift loose. It apparently just got stuck! Crazy, right?

We finally headed home around 3pm or so and headed straight to church. I missed choir practice. We had a social afterwards though so we joined in. It was a nice visit and we headed home around 8pm. I was exhausted it felt like it was 10 but I had to stay up to watch Desperate Housewives! We crashed around 10pm and around 3am was awakened by Anna. She was sick again, diarrhea and vomiting. We were up until around 4:30am. It was not pretty and I was awake for a lot longer. She has been fine this morning.

Weekend Projects!

A lot of work was done around the house this weekend. We had friends come in for the weekend and Kevin is a jack of all trades. He helped complete many tasks around the house that have been begging for completion. He fixed the window sill in our guest bedroom, hung our blinds in the living room, repaired some holes in our walls (now all Chris has to do is paint them), replaced a light fixture in the kitchen, fixed the light in the hall, hung the fence gate that Chris made months ago and finished it by making a small gate door to go through. He also helped check our plumbing and did a few things along those lines as well. I hope Kevin knows how much we appreciate ALL he did for us this weekend. I don't know how he got it all done but he is pretty incredible.

I had the priviledge of hanging out with his wife and son. Anna fell in love with Kyle and I have to admit I did too. He is such a sweetheart. He would open the car door for Anna and let her "fix" his hair for about 30 minutes. Then they played "cops and robbers" together. I took them to the park for a while and we witnessed these little girls swearing like sailors and being hateful to anyone that glanced in their direction. Needless to say we didn't get to stay long. Natalie is a lot of fun to hang out with too. We went to the flea market here and I found Anna an adorable Halloween costume. I will go back and get it soon. She is a NICU nurse and she is so good with Anna. Anna couldn't help but fall for her. They laughed together and did hair together. Natalie figured out what most people take a while to get: The way to Anna's heart!
Sunday Chris didn't get to go to church with us because they were finishing the gate. I had Sunday School and Children's church without him. Sunday School was ok but Children's Church let me just say WOW. Those kids are loud and energetic lol. Jason our friend was recruited to help me and he said afterwards next Sunday he would rather go get a root canal lol. Now he said it jokingly but I am thinking he is a little right. It would probably be a little less painful lol.

Weekend Review!

We had an interesting weekend. Friday night my friend Angel had a "great" idea lol. She wanted to make shirts for the walk on Saturday. So we went to Walmart and got everything we thought we needed and headed back to my house. We started using some fabric spray paint that didn't seem to be working that great. So after making a mess on Anna's shirt I head back to walmart to get a fabric marker instead. I get back to discover that Anna had gotten all quiet on Angel and Chris and they discovered that she had given her baby open heart surgery and suctioned her nose. Funny thing is she didn't get it on the carpet or anything just the baby oh and her hands. We started working on the shirts again and didn't finish until around midnight. Anna and I headed to bed leaving poor Angel with it at 11 or so. Anna was in complete melt down mode but wouldn't lay down without me.

Saturday, we went to do the walk. We arrived late but we sure did look cool in our shirts. Mine is being washed but maybe I will share a pic later. We were going to do the Sidewalk Chalk Festival after the walk but Angel and Victoria decided not to go. Anna was so exhausted and about to meltdown again so we didn't go either. Of course, we came home and she slept in the car and then wouldn't go back to sleep ugh. I did get a nap though it was a great thing because I was melting down too lol.

Sunday was church of course and afterwards we went to lunch with our friend Denise. Oh but before I go on I came up with a great project for our Sunday School class. We are doing interviews with each child about their Mom or female guardian. We are going to show it (after being edited of course) during one of the services on Mother's Day. I can't wait to see how they turn out. I came up with the thought and I came up with the questions but Chris has done the interviews. That kinda makes me sad because it was my idea and I had it how I wanted it in my head lol. Oh well, I am sure he has done a great job. I had to stay in and referee the kids cause they were wild! Sunday night we went to a Korean Church Dedication. They use to share our facilities and were building there own. They finished a while ago and so they did the dedication and invited us. It lasted 2 hours and Anna was such a big girl sitting with me the whole time. She did play around a little with Kia in front of us but really she did great. After the service they fed us and let me just say I am soooo picky. I didn't eat a lot but Chris seemed to enjoy it. Anna not so much! It was nice though and they have a beautiful church. My favorite part was listening to their choir. I couldn't understand a word they said but I love the way they sound!

What a weekend!

It was fun filled and super busy not to mention frightening!

Friday night Anna and I were on our own for a while. Chris had to go help the youth out with some stuff. So we filled our evening with cleaning and taking pictures.

When her Daddy got home he read to her while I finished cleaning the kitchen floor.

Saturday we had a great time. We took Anna and my neighbors 1.5 year old son to an egg hunt and to the park. Some of our friends invited us and we hadn't seen them in a while so decided to go. It was a lot of fun although wow the difference between Anna and this little boy were so vast it was wild. He isn't talking at all and is still very wobbly on his feet.

That afternoon we met some other friends at the Bamboo Farm for me to take some family pictures of them. Let me just tell ya'll I did a great job for them. Of course they are so cute together and have a most adorable little son that they made my job easy.

After taking tons of pictures we decided to go have dinner together. We are new friends. We met at church and as the wife said we are in the "dating" stage lol. You know how it is when couples first meet they have to make sure they will all "gel" together. Well, we really did! We stayed at the restaurant more than 2 hours. In fact the staff had to hint that they wanted us to leave lol. We are 10 years older than this couple but they have been through a lot and are pretty mature for their age; either that or we aren't so mature lol. Hmmm, maybe it is just a combo lol. Either way I look forward to getting to know them better and hanging out more often.

During this time my neighbors ex-girlfriend, the mother of the little boy we took with us to the egg hunt decided to call and give me a hard time for helping out her ex by taking care of her son. He got called into work and she wouldn't or couldn't keep him for whatever reason and he asked us to help him out. Apparently she changed her mind at the last minute but he was already in the process of giving him to us. She was not very happy about this and when I refused to talk to her about it she called back and left 2 messages. Not very nice messages. This is the same person that sat in my house and told me she was going to key her ex's car if he wasn't home and then went and did it. After getting home we realized that there were tornado warnings all over our area. The wind was whistling and it was getting scary. We put Anna to bed, with me in there with her. Around 12:30am our tornado alarm at the school went off and we got Anna up and huddled in our closet until almost 1. Anna slept through it but it was rather terrifying for me and Chris. Oh and our power had been out since about 9:30pm. It finally came back on around 9:30 am this morning. Or at least that is what the power co. said since we left at 8:30 to go get breakfast we can't be sure. My dear "friend" that left the 2 messages on Saturday called and left another one this morning telling me to stay away from her son! Guess what I think I will. I don't need all of that. Oh and for my friends and family that use my phone, my number will be changed tomorrow so I will send out an email to you and let you know what it is. If you don't get an email send me one and I will be happy to send it to you!

Well, I am late getting Anna off to bed and she and her Daddy are getting impatient so I will come back tomorrow!

Whirlwind Weekend

My weekend started with a lot of housework and a migraine! Sounds fun, huh? Not so much! My in-laws were coming and my MIL is a neat freak and well lets just say I AM NOT! So I ran around making sure the floor was mopped and everything was clean and tidy. By the time my in-laws got here I had a whopper of a headache! We were supposed to go to Olive Garden for dinner but by the time we got there it was a 40 minute wait. So we went across the way to Logan's instead. My headache went down hill quickly with the noise and the lights it turned into the worst migraine I have ever experienced. It was so bad I was about to get sick on my stomach. I came home and slept from 8 until almost 8 the next morning and felt like a new woman.

Saturday ~ we were pretty lazy and didn't get our day going until 11 at which time we went shopping for Anna a dress because she really doesn't have anything to wear to church. Let me just tell ya'll that finding a cute or, God forbid, a pretty dress for church is next to impossible at least in Anna's size. That is 2T or 3T just in case you are curious lol. The babies had some cute ones and the older girls had a few cute ones but not toddlers! We had a late lunch and then later Chris and I went on a date of sorts getting together with people that have graduated from his program. I was worried it would be a total bore but it really wasn't. We sat with one of his best friends in the class Christi and her hubby. They were very comical talking about rolling high schools and the things kids today take for granite like windows in a car that go up with a button and not the handle.

Then for the BEST part. (I wish I knew how to show sarcasm on a blog lol!) Anna didn't want to go to bed in our room last night. Aunt Casey was staying in her room and she was fine with that the night before but Saturday night she started screaming. "No Mommy my room my room. Please Mommy my room!!!" It took forever for me to get her settled in our room and then she woke up at 12:30 doing the same thing! Well, maybe not as bad but bad enough to be so late. We came and sat in the living room in the rocking chair and I thought I had her asleep. Just when I went to get up and lay her down she wakes up and starts whimpering "my room now Mommy" So we settled back down for another little while and I finally managed to get her back in our bed around 2:30. By 3:30 I was going out of my mind and I landed back on the couch by myself, leaving Anna in bed with my hubby. Around 6 he brought her back to me. I felt like I hadn't had any sleep whatsoever. I played hooky from church and got me a nap! It was the BEST nap EVER!!!

Today has been pretty lazy. After my in-laws left Anna took almost a 3 hour nap and I basked in the peace with a book. Not that we don't love having the in-laws here because we DO! But boy the peace after our crazy weekend was like balm on a 3rd degree burn or something!
