I survived!
We got to church and I had to jump right into teacher mode and start preparing to bake our cupcakes. They turned out great. I didn't get a picture of them either but here is what we did:
We mixed up the batter as directed on the box of cake mix.
Wrapped tin foil around the base of ice cream cones
Poured batter into the cones (the box said half and that is what we did but we should have done more like 3/4's they didn't rise high enough.)
Baked for roughly 30 minutes
I had major time restraints so I put them in the freezer to cool
After they were relatively cool I had the kids put icing on them
The icing was really another neat part.
I bought the vanilla icing at the store
I bought the cheap cool aid packets (the kind that doesn't have the sugar in it)
I used grape and orange (we are going to do this again for our fall carnival on Halloween!)
You mix them in a bowl and you have purple or orange icing or whatever color you decide to use. Red would be pretty neat for Christmas!
It did change the flavor of the icing and some of the kids liked one flavor more than the other but they all looked pretty cool!

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole
Ingredients:
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
1 1/3 cups water
3/4 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts halves
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions:
Stir the soup, water, rice, onion powder, black pepper and vegetables in an 11 x 8-inch (2-quart) shallow baking dish.
Top with the chicken. Season the chicken as desired. Cover.
Bake at 375°F. for 50 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the rice is tender. Top with cheese. Let casserole stand for 10 minutes. Stir rice before serving.
Skillet Chicken and Macaroni Parmesian
Ingredients:
1 jar (1 pound 10 ounces) Prego® Traditional Italian Sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
Heat the sauce, 3 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, chicken and macaroni in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese. Let stand for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
If you don't have cubed cooked chicken on hand, you can: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes in 2 batches and cook until it's well browned, stirring often. Pour off any fat. Add the sauce, macaroni and cheese to the skillet as directed above in Step 1.

My life
This week part of my past was settled. Well, at least settled more than it has been before. Because of that I am starting to actually feel a little peace and a little joy. I don't feel like my blood pressure is through the roof on most days. I do appreciate my family and being able to spend my day with Anna outside.
I am still working on making things right with my husband. Also, I am trying to figure out where my Mighty God would have me go and do. I know he has a wonderful purpose for me but my clouded vision hasn't been able to see it yet.
I have been trying to find a verse in the Bible and I can't put my fingers on it. If any of you can figure it out please share. All I can remember is that it said something about eagles wings and I think it was either in Proverbs or Psalms. It has been messing with me. I remember feeling so touched when I read it and now I can't find it again. I know I am grasping for straws here. If I could remember more I am sure it would help but... I am hoping someone will know what I am talking about lol.

Be Jolly, By Golly!
- When I was in high school or maybe college I took the fake tree down that my mother had put up and had my boyfriend (now hubby) take me to get a real tree.
- I started badgering my Daddy about a tree the weekend before Thanksgiving even though we had an arrangement to put the tree up the 2nd weekend after Thanksgiving.
- I help my in-laws and my sis-in-law put up there trees the weekend of Thanksgiving and come home get our tree up.
- Our tree usually is a 2 or 3 day process. I guess if I waited until the next weekend we could do it in a day but... Now we come home get the tree on Sunday. Monday we put the lights on and Tuesday we decorate.
- I start listening to Christmas music a week or more before Thanksgiving. Although I have already started listening to some due to our Christmas program at church.
- I have decorations all over my house in one form or another.
- I love baking and making Christmas candy.
- I love making Christmas crafts.
So anyway the point of the story is that I love Christmas and you can hear about it HERE!

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Her favorite questions: Why? and Where did that come from? She wants to know where everything she owns came from ranging from her clothes to her toys and anything else in the house.
Her favorite phrase: Let's not talk about that. LOL this one really cracks me up. We can talk about something for a few minutes and she will say "Lets not talk about that anymore!"
Last wednesday she was transfering from my car to Chris's. She got up in my front seat while Chris transfered the car seat. She pulled down the viser and said "I need to fix my hair." She opens the mirror and proceeds to "fluff her hair".
After one of her questioning sessions I asked her if she was going to be an attorney. She huffed and said "No I am gonna be a PRINCESS!"
Some of her statements in the early morning ~ I am assuming she is dreaming about these things.
- She looked around her room and said "Mommy where is my Christmas tree?"
- "I want to go get a biscuit."
- "Oh Mama I want to go play!"
The other day we were shopping with Casey and Yia Yia. She was walking with Yia Yia in front of me and Casey. She looked around and said "Ya'll don't look at my butt!" Seriously where does this kid get this stuff lol.
For more Tiny Talk go to Not Before 7!
PS She just called Santa on the cell phone. She wanted to make sure he was coming lol. Apparently, she is going to be very excited about Christmas this year. I think me practicing Christmas music for church has confused her lol. Not to mention I did let her get some of her Christmas books out to read too. Hopefully she can hold onto her excitement until Dec.

Anna's Halloween Costume!
- They have some of the prettiest produce I have seen all summer!
- I found the perfect costume for Anna to wear for Halloween!
We went back today and Yia Yia bought it for Anna. Let me know what you think! Well, only if you like it that is lol. I am excited! Imagine powder on her face with a little eyeliner and her hair up with some chopsticks in it. It will be very cool I think!

Just wanted to share:
- You warm 1/2 cup of Italian dressing on the stove for a few minutes.
- Add a diced onion to the dressing for 2 minutes. Be sure they are diced pretty small.
- Also add 2 cloves of minced garlic. (when you add the onions)
- Add diced tomatoes or you can use grape tomatoes. Allow to cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until it is warmed through.
- At the same time you are doing this start a half pound of pasta to cook. (I did a little more and it was fine)
- Drain after it is done and then mix with the onion and tomatoes.
It is quick and super easy! Oh yeah and you can sprinkle some cheese over the top.

Weekend Projects!
Friday, September 05, 2008
When I was little one of my fondest memories is being outside helping my Dad rake. Well, he was raking and my brother and I were making a house out of the pine straw. We had several rooms created when the wind picked up. I am assuming now as an adult that a hurricane or tropical storm caused it. I spread my arms out wide and started spinning around in a circle just hoping that if I went fast enough the wind would pick me up. Of course I never got fast enough for that to happen but I loved dreaming about it.
When we have company at the house on weekends I go lay in the bed with Anna for nap time. To get her to go to sleep we lay down close to the window and watch the leaves "dancing" in the breeze. She loves the wind as much as me. She has always loved the wind in her face. I remember when she was still a baby we went to Jacksonville zoo. I will never forget how she tossed her head back and seemed to absorb every bit of that wind. I love sharing joy through the simple things with Anna.

House or Home
This house was an ugly duckling that has turned into a swan. You can't really see because I was across the street but this house is really pretty. They have done some amazing things with the landscaping. Even the fact that they painted the front door made a huge difference. This house is a corner lot so the garage is facing the side. They get extra points for that!
This isn't a house of course lol but It is a georgeous plant placed right behind a mailbox. I just thought that it looked fabulous.

Wordless Wednesday - Storm Preparations
All of the toys have been put away in the garage. Along with the grill and our swing that is usually hanging on the back porch. The house has a forlorn look to it, well to me it does anyway. Anna and I seized the moment of a clear porch to sweep it and blow it off. Now if I only had a pressure washer we would be in business. It sounds like the storm is now supposed to make her debute at our sister city so all of this may have been for nothing. Well, except for the fact that the porch needed a good cleaning!

Pity Party ~ Done!
Here is Anna the day Tropical Storm Fay came through! I say came through it was about 200-300 miles away but we still felt the wind and rain from it.
