Good Times and Resentment!

We went out for a play date this morning. We had a blast. Anna played hard for an hour on the playground with Brooks before heading back to their house. They ran and sang and climbed and picked up acorns and ran a bunch more lol. We went back to their house and had lunch and played a little more. Lori and I talked about church stuff, life and all that girly stuff we tend to talk about. It was a nice change of pace for both me and Anna. I was feeling all relaxed and happy when we got home. That is when the resentment hit me. I walked in the door to find red stuff all over my floor. I couldn't even determine what it was until I was right on it. Apparently my dog decided he was going to eat our fish food. So now even after vacuuming my carpet is still tinted red. I will have to get the carpet cleaner out after Anna wakes up and I have to tell you I resent the crap out of that.

I love my dog to pieces but I am so tired of never having a clean house. If he isn't finding a way to get into trash, he finds any type of food left on counter like bread or fruit or oatmeal or whatever I have left out. Now that I am onto his game he has switched to going for fish food. Oh and I forgot the time I left my purse down with m&m's in a ziplock bag and he got into that! I am just so frustrated and ready to beat the dog! If anyone wants a 13 year old boxer that sleeps a lot and likes to eat like a goat call me!!! He is free in fact at this point I might even pay you to take him lol.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!

* Disclaimer: Thank you Mamacheryl for reminding me that he will also water your plants , furniture and carpet to help them grow! Oh whats that, you say furniture and carpet don't grow well you won't know until you give it a shot, right! My phone is waiting ~ call now!!!

A Lighter Note!

If you have been around a while you know that we use to have 2 dogs. We ended up adopting Maggie out. It was a very difficult decision but the right one. Here is Maggie living large at her new home. It is a relief to know she is happy and spoiled rotten!

Sunday Musings!

Well, we took our dog to the vet and they told us there was no medical reason to put him down. So the bottom line is that we have to watch him continue to deteriorate and continue having bladder issues until he is at a point were he can't get around at all and is doing even more pitiful than he is now. I really don't like watching him go through this it just breaks my heart that he hurts so much.

On a lighter note, we had a great day today. I taught a stellar lesson in Sunday School this morning. I had the kids answering questions and laughing and really interested in the word of God. That was really cool. Then this afternoon I had nursery with Chris and we had fun. We only had 3 kids so Anna and 2 others that we know very well. They danced and sang and read several books. It was fun watching the kids play together and communicate with each other. It is amazing how great they get along. We are all going on a play date probably on Wednesday.

We also met some of our friends at the Bamboo farm for just a short while. It was such a beautiful day today that the fresh air and sunshine just lifted my spirits! I ran and played with Anna for a while getting a little exercise. I missed my walk today not a very good record since I just started yesterday. I will walk in the morning and play with Anna some more too. I have to say playing with her seems to be more of a workout than walking most days lol.

Buddy is back home!

Well, it has been interesting lol. Buddy did great on the trip to his new home and then settled in fine for a while. Then he decided he wanted to come home and started peeing all over everything. He would pee just an hour after going outside, on rugs, on walls or just on the hardwood floor. Poor Cindy was distraught and didn't know what to do since she has to go back to work and didn't want to wade into her house after 6 hours. So after long thoughts and discussions and don't forget prayers we decided that the only way to handle it was to bring him home. Now we are just wondering if Maggie will make it there without him. She is doing great right now but tomorrow she will be home TOTALLY alone for the first time EVER! So hopefully she will be ok and not to terribly lonely. One side of me feels the universe has shifted back into place now that Buddy is back but a part of me was really excited about a dog free house. Oh well, apparently we are meant to keep Buddy and so we shall. Now a part of me wants Maggie back too. I mean why not since we have Buddy already lol. Oh well, seriously I hope she is happy in her new home and will be a good girl. She is loving all of the attention she is getting and I think that is fabulous! Thank you all for the prayers and please keep dropping one for us here and there as we adjust to all of these changes.
PS. Anna wasn't worried about the puppies before but now that Buddy is home she keeps asking "where's Maggie?".

Doggie Update!

I have talked to Cindy and just received photos too. They are adjusting quite well at her house. They are eating great and sleeping great too. She said they act like they have been there forever. I really do think this was worked out by God! He is an awesome God! I certainly feel much better knowing they are happy. So I will share a few photos and then I have to get ready for church. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!(Above) Buddy & (Below) Maggie look like they are smiling!
Don't they look so peaceful!

It is all said and done.

Buddy and Maggie officially have a new Mommy. Today has been one of the hardest days of my life. I have been crying on and off since I woke up at 6:30 this morning. They seemed to adjust to her pretty quickly. When we loaded them up in her car they seemed to settle right in. She called when they got down the street to let me know that Maggie was sleeping and Buddy had nuzzled her neck but was mostly just watching the road. Enjoying the car ride. Hopefully this means they will enjoy their new home and will just settle right in.

It was so very difficult to watch them get in the car. I couldn't take it at one point and had to just walk away. The feeling of loss was so strong it overwhelmed me. They were waiting for my hubby to come say his final good bye so I ended up going back out there.

OK so I am about to cry again so I am going to go but I wanted to thank you all for keeping us in your prayers. I really do think it helped. I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend.

"D" Day

Well today is my Doom's Day. Or at least it feels like it. My stomach is churning and I can't stop crying. I am being such a baby but I can't help it. Last night I had to go to bed with Anna because she was having a rough night. I woke up this morning and Buddy was laying in there beside the bed. We gate them off in the kitchen and he had barely pushed the gate over to get through. I don't know how he had enough room to get through honestly. I got up and snuggled with him for a while. This is so much harder than I ever imagined and trust me I have a great imagination.
My prayer for today.
Dear God,
Please help Cindy to have a safe trip here and back home. Help her to bond quickly with Buddy and Maggie. Find a way for me to make complete peace with what we are doing today. Explaining to Anna has been difficult and I know she doesn't really "get" it. So please make this an easy transition for her. I pray that you will help Anna have a good day with her Yia Yia and Pop and not feel all of my anxiety and upset. Most importantly, please be with Buddy and Maggie. Help this be a smooth transition for them and help them adjust and grow to love Cindy. Make sure they know that they can be happy there and that I will always love them. Just keep your arms wrapped around all of us through this and make your presence known. Thank you Lord for helping us find the perfect person to take them and just keep reminding me that you are in control!
I love you Lord and I appreciate all that you do in my life!
AMEN!

Mixed Feelings

I have so many feelings running through me I am having trouble figuring it all out lol. This weekend is when we give our puppies to my new friend, Cindy. On one hand I am very excited because I know that the dogs will be much happier. I will not have to sweep, mop and vacuum so much and Anna will be able to play in the back yard more often. Oh and don't forget the weekly baths that take at least an hour to do. On the other hand they were my first babies. They have been a part of this family for a very long time. They make Anna very happy. They are fun to play with. They are so loving!

The truth of the matter is though that having the time to play or love on them has been limited and they have been cheated. We probably should have done this a long time ago but it was such a hard decision to make it took a lot of prayers, soul searching and arguments within myself to get to this point. They are going to a home where they will think they have died and gone to heaven. Cindy will let them have the run of the house, sleep in the bed and lounge under the fans all day. She is even going to install a fence and doggie door so they can have even more freedom. She sounds perfect doesn't she! I am glad that we waited because if we hadn't they wouldn't have gone to her.

Please keep me in your prayers as we go through this Saturday. I want it to be a smooth transition for us all. I hope that Cindy will be happy with them and they will be happy with her. I hope that we can adjust to not having them here. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes!

Thank you Friends!!!

I appreciate all of the support you all have given me, on here and IRL! This is really tough but I realize it is the right thing to do. I think we have found a new Mommy for them already. God had this already planned out I think because it just seemed to fall into place. She lost her 2 boxers, one in Dec. due to cancer and the other one 3 months later of a broken heart, pretty much. She decided the same day that my dogs were listed on the site that she was ready to open her heart to another dog. She told me she couldn't read the stories or she would want them all but was looking at the pictures. She saw my 2 babies and it clicked for her. She sounds like she will be amazing for them. They will be treated like the royalty they are! She has children a 17 year old and a 21 year old and they are just as excited about them as she is. She is planning to come get them the end of August. So please pray that I will survive this month but paticularly the end of the month.
I thought this was interesting: Above is a picture of my puppies and below is a picture of their new mommy's puppies that passed away. They obviously had the same kind of love! I pray that my puppies can help her and her children heal and love again and that my puppies will learn to love them too. Ugh here I go crying again. I have turned into a real cry baby. So on that note I will say goodnight! Please keep me in your prayers!

Tough Choices

Well, my hubby and I made a tough choice recently. We have decided to find a new home for our puppies! This is one of the toughest things that I have had to decide on in a long time. We know that it will be the best choice for all of us including them because they don't get all of the love and attention they deserve. Today I was talking to someone and they told me the best place to find a good home. It is called Boxer Town! I talked to the guy that runs it tonight and he has already added Maggie and KO. It is breaking my heart, I feel like such a terrible person. I just hope they will not suffer to much from the transition and that they can be happy in their new home when we find them one.
Ugh, I get all weepy every time I just think about it.

It was a long night!

Last night Anna stayed up late to see her Daddy. When she does this she doesn't go to sleep as fast and she is always up early. On top of that the crazy dogs were up and down all not long. Not both of them just Buddy! I am so sleepy I am going to be counting down the hours until nap time! Anywho, such is life right.
While I was watching Anna play with her Daddy I was sitting there thinking of the first few weeks of my marriage. The day I moved into the apartment with my hubby was an exciting day. We didn't really have a honeymoon so we moved in the day after our wedding. It felt so WEIRD to be all alone with him lol. We had moved to a new city so it was just us. I remember all of the hope and excitement that I felt as we started out on our new journey together. Not everything turned out like we expected and we have had our troubles. Including me just having to ride around the neighborhood early on cause I was so mad I couldn't even talk to him. Don't ask me what I was that angry about because I really don't remember lol. The point is that 11 years ago I couldn't imagine how wonderful it would be watching the man I love playing with our daughter. I couldn't imagine loving him more than I did back then. The truth is that I do love him more. I love him more because he forgives me when I screw up, he hangs around even when I drive him nuts (which I know I do). I love him more because of how well he knows me. I honestly think he knows me better than I know myself. Unfortunately, he can't say the same thing about me. I am not nearly as observant and intuitive as he is.
So the long night and early morning were worth it. I know that my sacrifice was worth it because it made both my hubby and my daughter so very happy. However, tonight I will sleep!!! LOL!

Tackle It Tuesday

Here are the objects of my obsession for this Tackle. I have scrubbed from head to tail. Bleached their bedding and scrubbed the floor! It took me well over an hour to feel like both dogs were actually clean. With all of the rain we have been having they have been smelling like wet dog - can I hear you say GROSS! Now they smell much - much better. The floor feels much better! & Their beds are all clean!!! Yay for a successful tackle!!!
