So we had a good trip but we didn't do all that we had hoped. We were planning to go to my grandmothers and DH's family all on Thursday. However, we had a grumpy little one that dictated our schedule lol. We decided that we would just stay with my in-laws because we didn't want to listen to Anna fussing the whole time we were on the road and being clingy while we were at my grandmothers. So now my family is probably pretty upset with me but I decided to do what was best for my child.
So anyway we had a good trip but I was glad to get home. We were going to put our tree up on Saturday but Ms. Anna didn't want to sit in her car seat after our long trip home so we waited to go get it on Sunday. We had a great time at the tree farm. Anna thought it was very cool that there were a lot of trees smaller than she is and she liked to try to hide in the bigger ones. We were there over an hour and found a very pretty tree. I will post it in a few days I am sure. Here are a few pics from our adventures at the farm (doesn't Anna look adorable).

Thanksgiving is almost upon us
I can't wait for Thanksgiving to get here. I think more for the time off than anything lol. Even having a short week because we went to the funeral or prehaps because of it I really don't want to be here this morning. The sad thing is I am only working Monday and Tuesday and am off the rest of the week. So I need to focus and get some work done and here I am blogging lol. Oh well, I am sure I will get it all done in plenty of time.
.
Anna is sick. She has been running a fever for the past few days. Her Daddy is home with her and will take her to the doctor when I make her an appointment. I hope she is all better before we have to go out of town again. Coming back was not fun with a sick baby. Although she slept for a large part of the trip getting started was rough she cried on and off for about 30 minutes. I hate to feel as helpless as that. When she cries I should be able to comfort her! We survived though and all is well. Well if I am not around again until after the holidays have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

In Loving Memory of Herbert
So last night we were hanging out watching tv and my cousins wife called. She said she had bad news and I immediately thought something was wrong with her 3 month old son. She was calling to tell us that my Aunts husband had passed away from a massive heartattack. My aunt is obviously devistated. I think they had been married for close to 20 years. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. My uncle was Herbert and my Aunt is Jean. My heart just breaks for her!!! The holidays are going to be so terribly hard on her.
.
When someone you know passes away it makes you realize your on mortality. I was laying in bed with Anna this morning praying to God that I would be able to watch her grow up and become a loving and intellegent young woman. I want to have grandbabies and grow old with my hubby. Life just seems to short! Live, Laugh, Love - don't forget to do all three daily!!! Go hug someone you love and be sure to tell them that you love them because we never know when the end is near!

It is hard to believe that 16 years ago I started dating the man that is now my husband. We were just kids in high school so young and clueless. Apparently not too clueless though cause I feel like being with him is the best choice that I have ever made. We don't always see eye to eye but we manage to work through most of it and we have a very strong relationship for it. About 4 years ago we were on the verge of a divorce because I so desperatly wanted a baby and he didn't. Somehow we managed to hang in there and well you have seen the pics of my daughter she was well worth the wait. And because we waited she is fortunate enough to have a Mommy and Daddy that have a strong and loving relationship. I am very happy we waited because it wouldn't have been as much fun if her Daddy hadn't been as thrilled as I was.
.
My philosophy on marriage is that it takes 2 people and a ton of work and if one of you isn't willing to pick up a little of the slack when the other one needs it then you are in trouble. During the days of our trouble neither of us could help carry the other and it was hard on our relationship. Finally, I don't really know what turned it around for us I think I stopped nagging him about a baby and he started feeling less pressure. There is always going to be one of you that needs something extra - so the other partner has to be willing to give that extra. And it can't always be the same person it has to be a give and take relationship. Compromise is huge too so don't forget that part of it.

Day at the Fair
What a great day we had!! We went to the fair and walked around for several hours. We looked at pretty flowers, went through the petting zoo, let Anna ride a pony and had a terrible lunch that cost a small fortune and it was absolutely wonderful. Anna took a 2.5 hour nap after we left which never EVER happens! Here are some of our pics from the fair. Hope everyone else had a great Saturday!!!

Trick or Treat
So we took Anna trick or treating for the first time ever!!! I thought she would be scared and shy but boy was I wrong!!! The first house we stopped at - she held her pumpkin and stood there smiling at the nice couple. After he put a piece of candy in her pumpkin she got this look in her eye and started pointing at the next house lol. We went to several houses some how managing to keep her headband on for most of it. She even went up to a spooky house and didn't really flinch when a scary monster answered the door. She is such a big girl. They grow up so fast. Here is her costume.
Isn't she a doll!!! I would love to see some other Halloween Costumes and hear stories!!!

Haunted Houses
With Halloween just around the corner I have been thinking about past years. My brother - that was 3 years older than me - decided to be sweet one year. This was a rare occurance lol but he decided to take me to a haunted house with him and his buddy. I was about 14 so they were around 17. We went & I of course was squealing all the way through. Well we get to this one room that has the chainsaw massacre in it. The guy holding the chainsaw rubbed it against my brothers friends leg. He looked down and saw a fake leg laying in the floor and he started screaming bloody murder and ran through the rest of the house!!! Of course he was totally embarrassed when we got out there and was laughing our butts off at him!!! Ah to be young again.

Greek Festival
We had a blast at the festival. Anna loved the Greek music and the dancers!!! She was simply mesmerized by the dancers. She even stood in front of me and tried to mimick what they were doing. It really brought tears to my eyes (I know I am pathetic). I don't know what came over me. Maybe it was the fact that my baby is growing up or something I just don't know.
It took Anna forever to get over her Roseolla. She finally went back to daycare Wednesday. Which means I had to go back to work yesterday. Let me tell you after being with my baby for almost a full week without work I was NOT ready to come back! I just keep counting down the minutes until Friday afternoon.

My poor baby!
So yesterday I got a call at work that I needed to pick up Anna. She has a fever of 101.6. So I dash over to get her and bring her home. We spend a restless night with temps up to 102.5 under the arm. I get up and call the doc to set an appt. Take her in at 9:30 and find out it is just a viral infection. Causing crazy temps and a terrible rash of sorts all over her body. So we get home and give her some Motrin and she nurses and then naps. She wakes up and her lip is blowing up like a balloon!!! I am freakin out - this has never happened before and it isn't supposed to happen to my baby. I call the doctors office and it is closed for lunch so the nurse says hold ice on it for 20 minutes haha have any of you ever tried to hold ice on a 14 month olds lip - not going to happen. So we hang in there and go visit our neighbor cause I was freakin out and we visit for a while and Thank the Good Lord her lip started going down. Unfortunately her eye is still a little swollen but it isn't bad. I hope that it will go down soon. Her fever did break during her 2.5 hour nap and the rash seems to be gone. Having a sick baby is no fun!!!

First time blogger
Well this is my first blog ever!!! So bare with me while I adjust to the life of a blogger. My name is Candace & I have a daughter that is 14 months old. She is the light of my life. I waited a very long time to have her. My DH and I have been married for 10 years now. Patience has never been my strong suite so I don't know how I managed to wait that long for the best part of my life lol.
