Chatter!

I have a jumble of thoughts tonight so I thought I would just put them out here for you all to share in my jumbliness lol!

I finally got a few tomatoes out of my garden this past week. They were so yummy. I have several green ones now so it is only a matter of time before we have lots of tomatoes! You see my picture? Aren't they pretty? They are cherry tomatoes. I planted those for Anna because she likes to be able to bite into them and have the juice shoot out!

We started VBS tonight. We didn't have a lot of children but I am holding out hope for tomorrow. I am on snack duty and I picked out an easy one for the first night. It was an eruptive volcano! Which consists of 1/3 cup of milk, a shot of canned cool whip and coke on top of that. It was in a 9 oz cup. Chris and the kids enjoyed it. Me, well I thought it was kinda yucky lol. Oh well I like to please the little ones so I go with the flow. Tomorrow we are making a spider out of moon pies! That is more up my alley lol.

Tomorrow Anna starts swimming lessons! She is going with a friend so I am hoping it isn't to stressful for her. We have to be there at 8:30 am. It will be exciting!!! She is doing well already so I can't wait to see how much she will learn with real lessons!

Tackle it Tuesday!

We have had a busy day. We have been to the grocery store, cleaned out the fridge and worked in the garden! Now that we have done the work ya'll just sit back and see how it looks!

It's a garden!

It's not a secret garden and it won't have pretty flowers in it BUT it will have some scrumptious veggies in it! I am so excited about my garden I had to share it with you. My friend Angel came over and we tilled and sowed seeds. I felt like I was going back in time where people actually did reap what they sow on a regular basis. In today's world not a lot of people actually plant gardens. Maybe it is because we don't have enough time or enough land or enough energy. Whatever the reason I am thrilled that I made enough of all of them to do it. Now mind you when you look at the pictures it doesn't look like much but just give me a month or so and we will see what happens.

I couldn't have done this without Angels help! She borrowed a tiller from someone we go to church with and she was a ton of help in the whole process. She got down and dirty out there with us. She even taught Anna the dirt dance. If she wouldn't kill me I would've gotten a video of the two of them doing it and put it on here. You will just have to take my word for it that it was very entertaining and lots of fun. I even did it myself a few times practically bringing Angel to her knees with laughter!

I don't know if I am more excited about the garden being done or about having a good Christian friend to hang out with. We had so much fun. Doing things with a friend makes it a little more fun. We spent the full day together and had a blast. Angel even won Anna over which takes a while. By the end of the day Anna couldn't get enough of Angel and she was very sad to see them go. Although, she was very happy to get in the tub lol.

Work Day

We had a work day at church today. I always feel pretty useless during these days because Anna is with me. Today I realized that even though I am not able to do a lot of the major work at least I can take care of the few kiddos and others can have a chance to work. It is my little contribution that doesn't feel so little to the other Mom's. I am not sure how I end up the ones with the kids. I guess I am a kid magnet and they just gravitate towards me. We ran around outside and in the nursery. Went to visit the other workers and made sure they were working hard lol. We also listened to our praise team practice. It was pretty fun. I just have to remember that even though I didn't get any work done at least I contributed my time and energy.

This afternoon in an effort to keep my body moving I cleaned the weeds out of our flower bed in the front yard that I just did about a month ago. It wasn't to bad but if I waited a few more weeks it probably would have gotten pretty bad. It looks fabulous right now. Although I now need to clean our walkway and do one of the other beds up there. Anna and I will work on that this week.

We also intend to declutter our house. I have heard about flylady by numerous people including my mother. I have signed up for her daily emails and have shined my sink! Doesn't that look pretty!!! So I am going to start doing the baby steps this week and see if I can't get my house in shape. Now that I have lost 8 pounds I have more energy so I am going to put it to good use. Hopefully Anna will cooperate with this decision lol. She typically has other ideas about my energy, like running around in the yard or going to the park and climbing the rock wall.

With a lot of help from my hubby I have finally tackled our flower bed completely!
